The Legacy Rainbow House Appeal -

Talita and I managed to complete the Liverpool Half Marathon. We came SECOND. That was from the last. That does not matter. The thing is we did it.

MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE APPEAL. WE RAISED IN EXCESS OF £8000/-. IT WAS ONLY POSSIBLE WITH YOUR WHOLEHEARTED HELP AND SUPPORT.

In one video you see us running the wrong way. Well we are entering Sefton Park. The others who are far ahead of us have already been round Sefton Park and were returning. Hence the wrong direction.
In another video you can only see us. That is because everyone else have gone so far ahead and we are the only ones remaining. The videos are courtesy of Sunil, a dear friend who accompanied us the whole distance on his push bike.

I have never done anything as physical as this. On the morning of the Half Marathon I was worried whether I would be able to do it as there was a reactivation of my gout (left foot). The first verse that came through an e-mail that day was Isaiah 40:31 - but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Online donations are still open. To donate to this charity go to George's fund raising page.
I am a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon working at
Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals NHS Trust. As well as being a general orthopaedic surgeon I have an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with spinal disorders and lower limb arthritis. There are a few information leaflets on various conditions and their treatments. In the near future I will be updating this site with further information. I have also provided links to appropriate and informative websites. Any patient who wishes to seek medical treatment should attend their family doctor who will be able to refer them to a specialist if appropriate.

As well as working at the above named NHS institutions I am available for private consultations at Ramsey Renacres Hospital.

Appointments can be arranged through my secretary, however, usually a GP referral letter is required.
